Devlog post - WEEK #6 - Gonçalo Cruz
This is my final Devlog post, I'm very happy to have taken part in this project, I think the final product is amazing and I'm very proud of it. It was quite hard to overcome the learning curve required to develop in Unity for the first time, but I'm fortunate to have had very helpful colleagues. The beginning was also challenging since the game concept was pretty much settled. To think outside the box and find ways to improve / redesign it wasn't easy.
The Concept Pitch held ideas that just ended up not being included, it was a very abstract and hypothetical stage.
The first Development Cycle with the creation of the prototype wasn't the hardest, even though I had to learn many things, the game didn't have to be polished, it was a very enriching experience to get the first feedback from our colleagues and hear their thoughts on our prototypes.
The second Development Cycle was definitely the most challenging since we, as a team, had to work on the project at the same time and it generated many merge conflicts. Overall a very demanding phase of development because the final product had to be as polished and consistent as possible, learned a lot during this stage.
On Monday (June 27th) we had the MOJO event (Montra de Jogos) where many people got the chance to try out our game and give us feedback. It was a very fun experience and definitely rewarding to see that people really enjoyed and had fun with our game.
This past week I created a simple sheet describing the principles of the game and how to play and took the time to reflect on the project and work on the final report.
