Devlog post - WEEK #1 - Manuel


This week I mostly just filled the design document with some of our ideas for the core experience of the game and started thinking about some mechanics to explore in the prototype due next week. As for the prototype, I'm thinking of either doing a "chase" type level where the player has to run away from a danger constantly looming behind, as the camera automatically drags in the same direction, forcing the player to move away from it while having to dodge obstacles. Alternatively, I also considered doing a simple closed room where monsters increasingly spawn in a round-based format and the player has to defeat them and score as much rounds as possible. Finally, also thought of exploring a different combat style than what we currently have such as having turn-based fights in certain scenarios, though I will most likely just go for one of the other two ideas for this prototype.
